Triple-0, once a hugely popular and standard-sized guitar, is now a compact-sized guitar and plays a considerably lesser role on the market. The omnipresent dreadnought still rules the acoustic world. Triple-0 guitars were all the rage among the blues, jazz and country players before the invention of the electric guitar (many of them switched to ES and ES-like electric guitars).
At this year`s NAMM, Fender has introduced the six-piece Paramount series which features two triple-0s, one in the Deluxe tier and one in the Standard tier. PM-3 Deluxe Triple-0 is, as a member of the Elite tier, equipped with stylish (1960s-reminiscent) decorations and ebony fingerboard and bridge. The body of this Paramount six-string is made of solid mahogany back and sides and a solid spruce sound board on top. C-shaped neck is attached at the 14th fret and has a luxurious ebony fingerboard on top. 20-fret fingerboard features lavish Concert Tone inlays, 1.75" bone nut and 15-3/4" radius. Fishman/Fender PM (PM stands for Paramount) preamp discretely inserted into the side of the body and a standard under-saddle piezo pickup comprise the electronics unit. The preamp rocks a simple set features, limited to volume, bass, treble, phase and tuner. Compensated ebony bridge and aged nickel tuning machines wrap the list of major specs. |
